Investing in electric vehicles for our last-mile logistics

Six new electric vehicles, out of a total of 30 units, now make up Delpa's fleet for its last-mile distribution services. The company has invested in 30 units, which will be added by 2025, with the goal of promoting more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation methods.Delpa Group, a multinational company with more than 26 years of experience in Chile as a logistics operator, offers its clients services that cover the entire logistics chain for national and international freight transport. "Thanks to our solid structure, with our own offices and fleet of vehicles, as well as specially equipped warehouses and proprietary technological platforms, we are capable of handling all types of cargo and supporting our clients throughout their entire supply chain," explains Daniel Urra, President of Delpa Group.Today, Delpa, as part of its continuous innovation strategy and in line with new market trends, is boosting its last-mile vehicle fleet with electric vans. The new units are five Maxus eDeliver 9 models and one Maxus eDeliver 3. "We are aware that cities are increasingly polluted and saturated by vehicles, and that the trend is toward seeking new methods for more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation. Along these lines, and as a logistics company with corporate social responsibility, we believe we can contribute our part in reducing the carbon footprint," emphasizes Daniel Urra.In this sense, the executive adds, the commitment to last-mile electromobility is key, where the implementation of electric vehicles is poised to be one of the main strategies to mitigate the environmental impacts of the logistics and distribution industry.Last-mile expertsDelpa Group is recognized as one of the most important and renowned logistics operators in its last-mile services, especially in the Metropolitan Region, Talca, and La Serena. This service stands out for being provided through our own fleet of vehicles and the availability of customer-integrated technology (online tracking and driver app), which allows them to monitor order status, delivery times, location, incident status, returns, receipts, etc. "Major companies such as Walmart, Electrolux, Metrogas, and Tremus trust our last mile. This is another reason why we wanted to take the plunge into electromobility, since in addition to providing our customers with excellent service, we are helping to reduce their carbon footprints and be part of their sustainability strategies," says the executive.Toward smart logistics, creating and innovating for the futureIn addition to its commitment to having a fully electric fleet by 2030, Delpa Group's technology department is working hard on developing technological platforms and integrations to improve logistics and the productivity of its own processes, as well as those of its customers and suppliers.“In a couple of months, we will provide news about these innovative projects, which aim to evolve toward smart logistics through new technologies,” Urra concludes.Maxus eDeliver 9 and Maxus eDeliver 3Both models comply with environmentally friendly European cargo standards and have become great allies for freight transport. The eDeliver 9 has a maximum range of 248 km, a capacity of 9.7 m3 and 11 m3, and a maximum payload of 1,200 kg. Meanwhile, the Maxus eDeliver 3 is capable of traveling more than 200 km while transporting up to 1,000 kg. It has an interior cargo volume of 4.8 m3 and 6.3 m3.Customized VehiclesIn order to meet the needs of its customers, Delpa Group's last-mile distribution service also offers the option of customizing vehicles with the customer's corporate graphics, upon request.

We are the ideal strategic partners

More than 28 years of experience in Chile and Mercosur, 20 offices in the Americas and Europe, and a network of strategic partners (agents) on five continents endorse Delpa Group's freight forwarding offering.Through a robust service offering, Delpa Group offers its clients global coverage for their imports and exports in more than 50 countries via air, sea, and land. Regarding its added value, Daniel Urra, President of Delpa Group, highlights that "we are one of the few companies in Chile with its own infrastructure to offer comprehensive services throughout the logistics chain (international and domestic), meeting the current needs of the supply chain."Another relevant factor, in line with sustainability, is that Delpa Group's domestic division has its own fleet of vehicles, ranging from electric vans for last-mile e-commerce cargo to trucks and ramps for project cargo (lowbeds). In the executive's opinion, the ability to achieve good freight forwarding that guarantees quality service and attention depends on multiple factors. "However, the most important thing is knowing the clients, their track record, structure, and financial stability, among other variables, to support them in all their projects and growth projections," says Urra. Why Delpa? Daniel Urra details the 11 reasons why the company is an excellent strategic partner for its clients.1. Experience: 26 years of experience, track record, excellence, learning, and added value.2. Clients: More than 5,000 clients (large, medium, small, and micro-enterprises).3. HR Staff: More than 150 direct and in-house employees. Experience, know-how, and professional excellence.4. Cutting-edge technology: CRM and proprietary technology platforms. We constantly innovate to evolve to meet the needs of the present and future, simplifying the work of clients, employees, and suppliers.5. Structure and infrastructure: Over 1,000 m2 of administrative offices and our own facilities as assets, complemented by logistics centers of over 5,000 m2 for warehousing and national distribution services in Santiago, Talca, and La Serena.6. Own vehicle fleet: Over 50 units of various sizes to meet needs and emergencies (dry, hazardous, refrigerated, or special, oversized, or extra-weight cargo). We have open and closed units, among others, for packages from 1,000 kilos to 70,000 kilos of project cargo for various types of merchandise.7. Own offices abroad: 15 of our own offices in the Americas and Europe, complemented by a network of agents on five continents.8. Ecosystem sustainability: Fully committed to the environment. Delpa Introduces SRM-CRM Systems and Leads Innovation in the Last Mile

Continuous improvement is a never-ending challenge at Delpa Group, a national and international air, sea, and land freight transportation and logistics company with 27 years of experience. As Daniel Urra, President of Delpa Group, points out, “Perfecting customer service is part of our corporate philosophy, which led us to develop the SRMCRM (Supplier Relations Manager & Customer Relationship Manager) software platforms.”A single platform to centralize the most relevant customer information. That's SRM-CRM, the software that will be available to companies and their supply chain, procurement, sourcing, sales, and purchasing departments starting in 2023. “Through this platform, customers can efficiently and effectively manage their national freight logistics or the shipments of all their transportation providers centrally. This allows them to have real-time control over cargo traceability, whether for purchases, sales, or shipments between distribution centers,” says Daniel Urra.End-to-End Tracking and ControlSRM-CRM enables companies to access savings in transportation costs, transit, delivery times, security, improved end-customer service, and greater visibility and performance over the process and quality of service and support of each of the suppliers contracted in the transportation chain of their goods.Via APIs, SRM-CRM integrates seamlessly between customers and suppliers. Experts call it "a true control tower," as it enables online access to information and proactive decision-making, providing complete visibility and traceability, from pickup by the sender to final receipt by the recipient.“Our SRM-CRM platform records deliveries minute by minute, in addition to displaying the vehicles and drivers of the suppliers who manage their last-mile or distribution loads, whether these are consolidated loads or exclusive loads in B2B or B2C mode. Clients can also personalize communications with the end customer—the recipient—via email or WhatsApp with their own company's corporate image, or by connecting their website to SRM-CRM, allowing the end recipient to track their shipments and achieving an optimal level of service,” explains the executive. In addition to the advantages of traceability and real-time tracking, SRM-CRM adds the benefit of being a standalone and independent software platform because, as Daniel Urra points out, the client is not obligated to have Delpa handle the freight. They can use Delpa as the transport company to handle the last-mile freight(s) or work solely with the software platform.Sustainable Electromobile Last MileDelpa has a fleet of trucks and vans for last-mile service or local distribution in the Metropolitan, IV, V, and VII regions, through dedicated vehicle services, regular consolidated services, point-to-point services, or multi-point services, depending on each client's logistical needs. Delivery services are also varied: same day, next day, or standard service, all managed and managed by Delpa's SRMCRM platform."As a transportation company, we are committed to electromobility, which is why a large portion of our fleet is electric and complies with the EURO VI standard. We have the GIRO LIMPIO seal from the Ministry of Energy and are in the process of obtaining Carbon Footprint Certification from the 'Huella Chile' Program," concludes the President of Delpa Group.More information here at www.delpagroup.com

“We will change the history of land cargo transport logistics”

Truck Delpa is called Delpa Group's new application for tracking national and international land cargo for its customers. This technological innovation came to revolutionize the way of managing logistics of this multinational company, which was born in Santiago 21 years ago and which today has 12 of its own workshops, with a presence throughout South America, North America and Europe. What services does Delpa Group offer its customers? Our presence with our own workshops in 12 countries, plus the network of strategic partners that we have at a global level, allows us to reach more than 50 countries, making us the only South American logistics operator with this level of coverage. However, in relation to our services, we cover the entire logistics chain, both in national and international land transport, as well as in air, sea and warehouse services. Ultimately, we provide our customers with comprehensive solutions for the entire logistics chain, and they can decide whether to hire the full service or just one part. At the end of the day, we have more than 5,000 customers from all industries and sizes in South America. How did you come up with the idea of developing Truck Delpa? We have a strategic growth plan for 2030, which has the intention of increasing the number of countries with our own workshops in the world to 33. At the same time, our organizational culture is very customer-focused, in terms of quality, excellent service and efficiency.Along these lines, we know that the customer concept has changed completely from what it was five years ago, due to technological advances. Today, it is not enough to deliver good service and good attention: the customer demands speed in communications and responses and immediate solutions. This is why, as a company with a vision of the future, where land transport is one of the company's key services, we decided to develop, based on our experience, a complete and modern application of National and International Land Cargo Tracking. What does this application consist of and how does it work?In a world that is changing, companies that have implemented technologies will be the ones that dominate the market, as well as adding operational efficiency to their processes, will have comparative and competitive advantages, and will be able to differentiate themselves and adapt to the customer of the future. In this aspect, we took on the challenge of transforming ourselves into a leading technology and logistics solutions company and created Truck Delpa. This is an application (App) downloadable to a cell phone or mobile device, which allows you to optimize the time of your customers, giving you the possibility of reviewing the entire route and logistics chain of your cargo, at any time and from any place.Through it, the customer can know, online and in real time, where their load is, and decide to follow up. At the same time, there is also the possibility of self-managing the contracting of a truck service, from any part of South America, as the system shows all the trucks that are circulating online. In short, all management can be done through this App, from requesting a truck to being paid for the service. What are your projections or expectations for Truck Delpa?Currently the application is working for our customers, but our proposal is to open it to the general market, where it can be used by natural people and transport workers, becoming a meeting point between those who need transport services and those who offer them. In the second half of the year we will release the application and we hope it will become a revolution, which will be able to change the history of land cargo transport logistics.
